For hundreds of years Maori, New Zealand’s indigenous people, have been kaitiaki (guardians) of the land and sea.

The KONO food basket

KONO in Maori means food basket, traditionally woven from harakeke (flax).

KONO New Zealand has filled this basket for your enjoyment with wine from the best New Zealand regions and mussels from the cradle of the Marlborough Sounds at the Top of the South Island in the spirit of the Maori traditions - a celebration of the harvest, its people, and its culture.

We, the Maori, the first people of Aotearoa/ New Zealand, have been environmental guardians for generations.  In the mists of time, our ancestors made an epic journey to this land, which we continue to nurture - providing for you our gifts from the sea - succulent Greenshell mussels (also known as Green-lipped mussels) and gifts from our land, beautiful New Zealand wines.

Quality is the hallmark of KONO - created, owned and operated by the Maori indigenous community, created for you.
