We have 150 hectares of Marine Farms in the Marlborough Sounds of New Zealand. Our staff utilise advanced technologies and world class sustainability practices to bring Mussels and Oysters to customers all over the world.

Perfect for growing mussels
The first stage of the farming cycle is seeding nursery lines with spat. These are held in place with continuous tubular cotton stocking that eventually biodegrades, after three to six months. The nursery lines are lifted and the young mussels are removed then seeded onto a thicker, much longer rope. They remain on them until harvest.
Depending on the site and the number of mussels growing per metre of rope, the cycle from seed to harvest takes 12 to 18 months for 90-120 mm mussels.
The clean, cool waters of the Marlborough Sounds provide an ideal environment for raising mussels from spat through to harvest. Our cultivation methods ensure they grow quickly, free of sand and grit.
Harvesting
Our harvesting is synchronised with factory production and client orders, scheduled to ensure mussels spend a minimum time out of the water. Harvesting takes place throughout the year and is timed to coincide with mussels reaching peak condition.
Monitoring
We rigorously monitor the health of our shellfish and purity of our seawater. Our environmental code of practice ensures our operations enhance the area's unspoilt beauty.
