Kono Seafood Factory

The Kono Seafood factory in Blenheim is built to exceed New Zealand government and international food processing standards. Our processing plant has the highest quality rating under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s Performance Based Verification (PBV) system.

Quality control

Our on-site laboratory monitors and controls product standards and quality control systems. We have a Risk Management Programme to identify, control, manage and eliminate or minimise any threats to the safety of our products, and the health of our employees.

Our quality control standards and procedures are designed to meet the requirements of the Animal Products Act 1999. An in-house Quality Assurance Manager oversees compliance, and MAF provides regular external audits.
