Kono is an associated business of Wakatū Incorporation, a special entity rich in history and at the forefront of Māori enterprise.Based in Nelson, our owners descend from the Māori tribes of – Ngāti Koata, Ngāti Rārua, Ngāti Tama and Te Ātiawa.At Kono we utilise our assets of land and sea in a manner akin to the Māori values of our owners.These values are: Manaakitanga, Kaitiakitanga, Rangatiratanga and Whanaungatanga.
Kono is a premium New Zealand food and beverage company. We employ over 300 staff, farm over 530 hectares of land and sea, and export to over 25 countries throughout the world.

We have three sectors:
Kono Beverages - wine
Kono Seafood - mussels, oysters and lobster
Kono Horticulture - apples, pears, kiwifruit and hops
And, are based in the Top of the South Island of New Zealand:
