See us at the Auckland Foodshow, and be in to WIN a Gourmet Travel Prize to Marlborough, meet chef, model Victoria Williams and more
KONO teams up with Destination Marlborough for the 10th annual Auckland Foodshow to present its innovative healthy New Zealand GreenshellTM mussels.
If you are feeling like some delicious healthy fare, full of omega 3 and protein but light on carbs and fat, then stop by the KONO New Zealand stand at the Auckland Foodshow 30 July – 2 August at the ASB Showgrounds. KONO mussels are farmraised in the pristine waters of the Marlborough Sounds, which is also a popular playing ground for recreational fishing, swimming with the dolphins, mussel cruises and much more. For this reason we have teamed up with our regional travel body, Destination Marlborough. While you are at our stand don't forget to have a chat about your next holiday, you could well end up in Marlborough.
We'll tempt you with our premium Greenshell Mussel products: Heat ’n Eat halfshell mussels with georgeous kiwi flavours such as Chilli and Horopito, or Manuka Smoke, and our succulent, tender marinated mussels.
While at the stand, meet Victoria Williams, model and chef, who has designed brand new recipes for KONO. And don't forget to fill in our entry form to go in the draw to win a Gourmet Trip to Marlborough for two.
We'd like to show you a good time, with a wonderful prize, and while you are here in the gourmet province (as it is often called), you will see why the Marlborough Sounds are a well known source of finest quality seafood that has become globally famous for plump and juicy Greenshell mussels. All of our mussels are raised through eco friendly, sustainable farming practices in our pure waterways.
The halfshell are a very innovative seafood products which you can simply keep in the freezer, take out when required, and place in the microwave, straight from the freezer, and microwave for only two minutes, before devouring these. Steaming in their own juice, the mussels stay succulent, tender and juicy, says marketing manager John Grant. Alternatively, they can also be heated on a BBQ, or in the conventional oven.
Another innovation is the use of indigenous flavours, such as the native bush basil called kawakawa by the indigenous Maori people of New Zealand, and horopito, the native bush pepper, as well as the more traditional garlic butter.
The flavoured half shell are now available at Foodtown, Woolworths and Countdown stores nationwide, and all good New World and PAK n SAVE stores. In the South Island also at Fresh Choice and Supervalue.
They make wonderful snack food, but can also be great components of entrees, risottos or pasta dishes. Be sure to take away our new recipes, developed for the Foodshow by chef and model Victoria Williams.
Come and see us at stand 265 at the Auckland Food Show and try our delicious flavoured halfshell and marinated mussels.
