Kono wine is made from carefully selected vineyards in Marlborough and Nelson - New Zealand's pre-eminent wine regions. These vineyards are certified Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand. We see this as integral to our values of kaitiakitanga - a Māori sustainability system that includes working with the environment without compromising it.
The concept of 'caring' for our lands as well as their rich and fertile condition create wines of personality and purity.
Kono Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016
A brilliant pale green in the glass, this pure and bright Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has a vibrant, fruit driven nose bursting with citrus, gooseberry and passionfruit. On the palate, luscious fruit flavours of ripe tropical fruits and lifted herbaceous notes are finely balanced with zesty acidity, an underlying minerality, and just a hint of residual
sweetness. Juicy, crisp and fresh, this wine leads to a long, dry and persistent finish.
Kono Nelson Pinot Gris 2014
A brilliant bright and clear wine in the glass with just a hint of typical bronze at the edges, this is a fresh and vibrant expression of Pinot Gris. On the nose aromas of ripe pears and apples are backed with exotic spices, while the palate is clean and fruit driven, with weight and texture gained through extended lees stirring. Perfectly balanced with soft acidity and refined phenolics the fresh flavours of this wine lead to a lingering, attractively dry finish.
Kono South Island Pinot Noir 2013
A bright crimson hue in the glass this South Island Pinot Noir has alluring aromas of intense cherry, cassis and violet notes. A full flavoured and concentrated wine, flavours of ripe red berries and plum are supported with fine, silky tannins and balanced oak that lead to a very long, elegant finish.
