Kono NZ is pleased to announce the sale of sustainable seafood company Yellow Brick Road, and the successful acquisition by former National Sales Manager, now owner, Martin Bosley.

The seafood provider was purchased by Kono NZ in 2015, and has a reputation as a world class provider of kaimoana to restaurants and customers throughout Aotearoa. Yellow Brick Road  earned its ethos through working with fishers who utilise environmentally friendly fishing methods such as long-lining and being able to trace when, where and how the fish they provide are caught – offering the full bait to plate journey for customers. Ideas that fit with the intergenerational approach of Kono NZ, along with our values of kaitiakitanga (guardianship) and hihiritanga (innovation).

“Over the past seven years with Kono NZ, there have been so many great experiences, memories, and lessons which I will hold onto dearly, not the mention the many relationships and friendships we’ve made along the way. Being a part of a Māori owned and values led business has been such a privilege for us at Yellow Brick Road, and those practices will continue to help guide us into the future.” Martin Bosley, Owner - Yellow Brick Road.

“Yellow Brick Road through Martin and Erica, have both been such valued members of our Kono NZ whānau. Both having formed strong relationships and friendships with many of our staff during their time here and having successfully led Yellow Brick Road over the past seven years. We are so pleased that the ownership of Yellow Brick Road is to remain with a friend and business partner, and I wish to thank Martin and Erica for their hard work and commitment throughout their time with Kono NZ” – Andy Wotton, Chief Operating Officer, Kono NZ.

Wakatū Incorporation and Kono NZ will continue to work closely with Yellow Brick Road as one of our partners and as a part of our domestic sales and marketing network.
